116 Pall Mall, London
This magnificent Georgian building in the heart of London, home to the Institute of Directors, hosts corporate occasions, private events, festive celebrations and weddings every year. The Grade I listed venue is steeped with history and has featured in films such as The Dark Knight and Ghandi. Guests are captivated with the opulent décor, stunning original features, period charm and unique heritage.
My brief was to produce an updated 116 Pall Mall logo and accompanying creative that would be used in marketing the venue’s core areas - corporate hire, private hire, weddings and Christmas parties.
I began by researching the venue’s heritage and exploring the rooms to get a sense of colour and pattern used in the existing décor, to ensure my concepts had substance and cohesion with the guest experience.
The end product was a set of guidelines that consisted of a colour palette inspired by the Georgian period, a strong emphasis on using pattern to reflect the textiles within each room, as well as a distinct illustrative style that takes inspiration from chinoiserie and engravings that were synonymous with the period.
Creative was then rolled out across brochures, menus, advertising, social media, signage within the premises and staff uniforms.
